GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

2. General duty statement for the position of room attendant :

 1. Manager :

  • Responsible to : General Manager
  • Job Summary : Divided in spot checking of hotel rooms to ensure standards, authorizing all leave schedule or ensuring control of expenditures as well as budget sets.
  • Qualification : RDM needs clear, concise written, and verbal communication skills at his/ her disposal, as well as strong organizational, excellent time management skills, and technical skills.
  • Duties and Responsibilities :
.           Spot checking of hotel rooms to ensure standard are maintained.
              - Ensure correct staffing levels during peak and low occupancies.
              - Responsible for negotiating and controlling contractors.
              - Ensuring budgets set are achievable
              - Ensure uniform, linen and toweling, and all relevant operating       equipment is controlling and sufficient for hotel needs.
              - Monitor staff trained to company spesification
              - Responsible for order of vehicle.
              - Responsible for plants and decor.
              - Review management rosters.
              -Attend weekly executive and sales meetings.
              - Attend General Manager's briefings with F.O & HK
              - Chair weekly room division weekly

2.
HK SUPERVISOR
  • Responsible to : RDM
  • Job Summary : Works in conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper to coordinate, schedule, and supervise the cleaning activities.
  • Qualification : Diploma, GCE "O" Level
  • Duties and Responsibilities :
              - Assigns worker their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standard of cleanliness.
              - Investigates complaints regarding HK service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
              -Obtains list  of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
              - Coordinates work activities among departments.
              -Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipments.
              - Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.


3 HOUSEKEEPER

  • Responsible to : Manager and any other person in authority within the Housekeeping department
  • Job Summary : Overseeing and directing the cleaning activities for the hotel. The work schedules are prepared & planed in advance by The Housekeeper, and The Housekeeper handles customer service and complaints as well.
  • Qualification : The job requirement for a Housekeeper can vary depending on the employer. Previous work experience in housekeeping is frequently necessary. A high school diploma or a GED are recommended. Many employers prefer Housekeeper with some managerial  or business experience.
  • Duties and responsibility :
               - Employee recruitment, interviewing, training, and overseeing and evaluating employees regularly.
               -Preparing Housekeeping Job description and S.O.P
               -Giving and directing duties that must be carried by Housekeeping employees.
               - Helping RDM and GM in equipment maintenance & repair is the responsibility of HK Department, especially guest room and public area.
              - Controling, demanding, and purchasing equipment needed by daily operations in Housekeeping, to fit the par stock as specified.
              - Undertake procurement and purchase program of furniture, fixture, and equipment for housekeeping in accordance with the required specifications.
              - Supervision, procurement, and purchasing equipment which provide for operation so the function in accordance with the standard specified.
              - Doing the regular inspections of the implementation process of Housekeeping employees work.
              - Monitoring the lost & found.
              - Creating the training program for employees.


4.  HOUSEMAN
  • Responsible to : HK Supervisor
  • Job Summary : Handling maintenance issues to cleaning up all the area of hotel except guest room
  • Qualification : No formal education but an understanding of English required
  • Duties and Responsibilities : 
- Cleaning heavy interior and exterior.
 - Perform household repairs and assist the housekeeper if needed.
  - Maintain household cleaning supplies.
  - Drive and chauffer, take care of trash and recycling inside and outside household.
   -Automobile care and maintenance.
   - Run errands.

5. LINEN ATTENDANT
  • Responsible to : HK Supervisor, guest who washing the clothes (guest laundry), & all existing department in the hotel (house laundry)
  • Job Summary : Receive, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Keep records and compile stock reports.
  • Qualification :Work effectively as part of a hospitality team; A person who has skills
  • Duties and Responsibilities :
- Stores, inventories, and issues or distributes bed and table linen and uniforms in establishments.
- Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
- Stamps items with identifying marks.
- Stores laundered items on shelves, after verifying numbers and types of items.
 - Counts and assembles laundered items on cart or linen truck, records amounts of linens and uniforms to fill requisitions, and transports carts to floors.
 - Conducts monthly and yearly inventories to identify items for replacement.
 - Keep linen room in clean and orderly condition
 - May mend torn articles with needle and thread or sewing machine or send articles to SEWER, LINEN ROOM.


6.
ROOM ATTENDANT
  • Responsible to : Supervisor and any other person in authority within the Housekeeping Departments.
  • Job Summary : To clean and maintain, up to the required standard, the established quota of rooms for each establishment. To perform other cleaning duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Qualification : No formal education but an understanding of English required.
  •    Duties and Responsibilities :
             - Clean rooms and bathrooms
             - Check room status
             - Be responsible for keys
             - Report DNDs
             - Replenish bathroom supplies
             - Replenish guest room supplies
             - Report maintenance required
             - Replace torn, damaged or dirty bedspreads, blankets, lampshades, linen, pillows
             - Remove room service trays
             - Report damages
             - Report suspicious behavior of guests
             - Report guest illness
             - Repport missing items in rooms
             - Return all lost property items to supervisor
             - Restock trolly
             - Maintain equipment
             - Use chemicals correctly
              - Fill out Room attendant's work sheet
              - Do any special assigned work given by the Supervisor
              - Be professional in attitude and outlook
              - Care about the guest by doing the best job possible
              - Work safely and efficiently
